Frozen Banana Treats

You’re going to love these frozen banana treats that will fit seamlessly into your meal plan!

I’m not a big fan of ice cream (gasp!). It usually leaves me feeling pretty bloated and I can never stick with the suggested serving size, but I do enjoy a cold treat after dinner from time to time.

I got the idea while browsing on Pinterest and tweaked them a bit.

They are easy, satisfying, and a treat that’s great for the whole family!

Frozen Banana Treats–makes 2 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • nut butter (I used peanut butter)
  • honey (optional)
  • chocolate chips, (I used dark chocolate)
  • crushed nuts (I used almonds)
  • Kosher salt

Instructions:

  1. Peel & slice banana in half crosswise and then slice each half lengthwise.
  2. Lay each banana piece on a baking sheet.
  3. Top the banana pieces with nut butter.
  4. Add chocolate chips to a microwave safe container and melt 15-30 seconds at a time, stirring in between.
  5. Add desired amount of honey + water to the melted chocolate & stir to a smooth consistency.
  6. Drizzle on top of nut butter.
  7. Lightly sprinkle chocolate with Kosher salt.
  8. Top off with crushed nuts.
  9. Place in freezer.
  10. Freeze for a couple of hours or overnight.
  11. Enjoy!
